Dr. Nurgul Ukueva has served as Chair of the Department since 2014, Head of the Division of Economics and Environmental Studies since 2017, and elected Chair of the Faculty Senate since 2017. She was appointed to the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) in June 2019.
Economics Department would like to congratulate Dr.Nurgul Ukueva with the appointment and thank her for hard work and commitment in growing the Department to what it is today. Over the last five years, her leadership at the Economics Department and the Division of Economics and Environmental Studies has been characterized by innovative ideas, strategic thinking and tireless efforts to increase the credibility and visibility of the program in the regional and international space of economic education and research. MSc in Economics Program has been established and successfully growing on her watch.
